Give Me Liberty of London Collection - Mini Haul

Give Me Liberty of London Collection - Mini Haul

We all heard the hype and now it's here! MAC and Liberty of London teamed up to bring us the Give Me Liberty of London Collection.

I went out and got a few things - not too much because there are other future collections that I am more interested in than this one.

This collection revolves around the colorful, flowery feel of the Liberty of London line. It's decorated with flowers and birds and promises brights blooming colors - pinks and purples and blues.

EYESHADOWS:
A limited-edition Eye Shadow packaged in a glossy white case. The see-through lid is decorated with an exclusively created floral motif for the Give Me Liberty of London collection.

I already own Free to Be so no need to repurchase and it's a part of the permanent line. Dame's Desire is weak compared to some of the permanent MAC purples such as Satellite Dreams, Stars 'N' Rockets and Satellite Dreams - no go here. The namesake of the collection Give Me Liberty of London is a pale pink that can easily be duped as well.

I picked up only two of these eyeshadows that I felt were unique enough to be must-haves. For the eyeshadows I bought:

Bough Grey - Mid-tone blueish grey (Satin)
This is a very unique satin grey that comes off more green based than blue on me...which is great since all my greys look blue on my skintone anyway. I like this one for a crease color and it can be mixed almost any color combination you can dream up.

Birds & Berries - Frosted dark green blue (Veluxe Pearl)
This is a beautiful frosty dark teal that reflects more green than blue. This has been compared to Strike a Pose from the Starflash collection but on me it definitely shows more green.

LIPSTICKS:
A limited-edition Lipstick in a glossy white case decorated with an exclusively created flower and bird pattern for the Give Me Liberty of London collection.

Peachstock is a great peachy nude but is available in the Pro line so not a must for me here. Ever Hip is a nice coral color that lacks a certain 'oomph' for me.

Again, I picked up only two of these lipsticks that I felt were worth the hype and may be well sought after. For the lipsticks I bought:

Blooming Lovely - Creamy greyed lilac mauve (Amplified)
Since I love my Up the Amp Lipstick so much I had to get this one. It's a light purple based pink that will require some work on darker skintones. It's creamy but has a nearly matte finish IMO. It's not as light as Lavender Whip so it's workable.

Petals & Peacocks - Creamy bright magenta pink (Amplified)
This one is gorgeous and applied like a dream. It's glides on smooth and rich in color. Love! It's bright vivid magenta with a sheen. Will take some courage to wear this one out but you know me...I'm bold!

  1. Gotta return the Blooming for me... it's too hard to work with it. lol. I'd like to see a fotd of you using it for inspiration for me - since we have similar skin tones, I won't return it just yet if you can please.

  2. Great review I was interested in both of the lipsticks that you pick but I am darker than you NC45 so I think Blooming Lovely will be too light for me. I will try Petal and Peacocks if I am brave enough to wear it.
I got Mac Bubblegum lipstick from The spring forecast collection and I love it so that maybe I can pass on these pinks

  3. Hey Celly. I just a did look using Blooming Lovely. I will post pics soon. I find if u add a pink gloss over it, it will help a lot.

  4. @Anonymous - U can certainly skip Blooming Lovely if u r darker than me. I already find it a bit too light but I tone it down with a darker pink gloss.
Definitely try out Petals & Peacocks tho! It's GORGEOUS! Feels great and looks great. It's bright but can work with a neutral look.
