MAC Pigment Swatches

MAC Pigments are one of my all time favorite products! I was a bit saddened when they redesigned the jar, and not because the price remained the same for less product, but because my collection will not be as uniformed anymore.... : )

Here are my babies in their little home....

AND here are the swatches....

P.S. The one labelled Navy is actually NAKED...LMAO! (my bad)

Urban Decay Primer Potion - EDEN

Urban Decay Primer Potion - EDEN

Welcome to the Garden of EDEN!

Urban Decay has released it's new version of the cult favorite Primer Potion - EDEN.

Sephora.com describes it as "An eye prep product that provides smoother, longer-lasting, and absolutely crease-proof eyeshadow—and is now offered in a very-wearable, tawny, matte hue."

I must say I had lost confidence in Urban Decay to improve on the original primer potion after the applicator redesign (so much for stopping the waste of product) and the primer potion in Sin (shimmery mess on my lids)...but they have renewed my hopes!

EDEN is just what it says - MATTE, TAWNY, CREASE-PROOF!

'Bright Future' Look

'Bright Future' Look

This look was inspired by MAC Bright Future eyeshadow from the Style Warriors (2009) collection. This is such a beautiful icy yellow eyeshadow!

For this look I used:

Sonia Kashuk Synthetic Flat Blusher Brush VS MAC 109 Small Contour Brush

Sonia Kashuk Synthetic Flat Blusher Brush VS MAC 109 Small Contour Brush

Many have been using the MAC 109 Brush for applying liquid and cream foundations and marvel at its effectiveness for this purpose.

Well move over MAC 109, there is a new brush in town - Sonia Kashuk Synthetic Flat Blusher Brush. The Sonia Kashuk Brush buffs and blends, glides and layers with ease. It’s super soft and CHEAP! This is my foundation CHAMP!!!

The Sonia Kashuk Synthetic Flat Blusher Brush is described succinctly as a blush brush and as the name suggests uses synthetic fibres. This brush retails for $14.99 at Target Stores and at http://www.target.com/.

The MAC 109 Small Contour Brush according to the MAC website:
"Use on the face to apply, blend or contour powder products. Softly rounded dome tip delivers just enough colour; smoothly blends colour into the face. Of natural fibres."
This brush retails for $32 at MAC stores
 and on http://www.maccosmetics.com/
or http://www.macpro.com/.

For half the price of the MAC 109 Brush, the Sonia Kashuk Flat Blusher Brush rules the school.

'Caramel Mustard' Look

'Caramel Mustard' Look

This look was inspired by the elusive Mustard Pigment from MAC that is on many wishlists. This pigment is rare and well sought after. I missed out on this one because my love for makeup is still pretty young and I am a fledgling to MAC products.

I decided to make my own version of this pigment by mixing my MAC Primary Yellow and Deep Brown Pigments and I like the result (even though I made far too much of it...)

Here's the look:

Tarte Treasure Chest

Tarte Treasure Chest

The Tarte Treasure Chest was a great 2009 holiday combination set from the eco-friendly beauty company Tarte Cosmetics. It features 32 full-sized eyeshadows, 16 lipglosses, 4 powder blushes, a bronzer and a highlighter. The eyeshadows are broken down into 16 matte shades and 16 shimmery shades.

This kit was retailed for $52 at Sephora but is valued at $686, in other words, big bang for your buck!!

'Neutrals' Look

'Neutrals' Look

I wanted to share my neutral eyes...

So without further delay....

Eyes:
MAC Laying Low PP - all over lid up to crease
MAC Painterly PP - brow highlight
MAC Naked Lunch e/s - all over lid
BE Wearable Brown Medium - crease
BE Wearable Brown Dark - outer V, darken crease a tad

'Soft Smokey Gray (Grey)' Look

'Soft Smokey Gray (Grey)' Look

I did a soft smokey grey (gray) look...however you want to spell it...heee heee...

I don't usually do smokey eyes because it's looks frightening on me so I did this version with gradients of grey (gray). I know it looks kind of blue but it looks more grey (gray) in person.

I used my MAC Pure White and Black Black Pigments for this look...I just mixed them to get a matte greys (grays) in varying intensities.

'Dive into Plumage' Look

'Dive into Plumage' Look

I did a look with MAC e/s in Aqua, Newly Minted, Kelly, Stormwatch and Plumage (in that order)....inner lid, mid lid, outer lid, crease, outer V...! I really like how it came out. Let me know what you guys think....As usual...no blush, contour or lips....just a regular everyday face using tinted moisturizer and blot powder.

'MAC Violet Trance Smokey' Look...

'MAC Violet Trance Smokey' Look...

I did a look with MAC Violet Trance e/s and MUFE Pure Pigment in Black...I have MAC Ricepaper e/s as my highlight and BE Wearable Light Brown on the inner lid...

Quick Inglot Look...

Quick Inglot Look...

This is a quick look I did using Inglot Cosmetics. I'm not sure what the exact eyeshadow numbers are but...I still wanted to share...

'Checkered Past' Look

Checkered Past...

In this post, I'm rocking a very colorful fun look to match my shirt...yes I match my eyeshadow to my clothes...it's so faux pas that it's IN! LOL...

On my eyes I'm wearing:
MAC Naked Pigment (inner lid)
MAC Violet Trance e/s (outer lid)
MUFE #92 Purple (outer lid to brighten Violet Trance e/s)
MUFE #167 Blue (Crease)
MAC Kid e/s (highlight)

Inglot Cosmetics

Inglot Cosmetics - New to NYC!

Just wanted to do a quick review on a new brand in the US - NYC to be exact. Inglot Cosmetics.

Background:

So from what I read and was told Inglot Cosmetics is a Polish brand that has been around for about 20 years now. This is their first store in the US and it opened sometime in July-August 2009. Their specialty seems to be nail polishes but they have a great collection of eye shadows, blushes, pigments, gel eyeliners, liquid eyeliner, lip glosses, lipsticks, foundations, concealers, brushes, etc…you name it they seem to carry it!

My experience:

Well I went there because Enkore (YT) did a video showcasing the new store in NYC and I had to see it for myself. My focus was on the eye shadows, pigments and the gel eyeliners.

For swatches and more...

'The Rainbow Sorbet' Look

Rainbow Sorbet....

For this look I was inspired by Rainbow Sorbet...and my dress...yep I match my dress (FOR SHAME!). Do you guys ever match your makeup to your clothes?? What do you think of this being labelled as a faux pas? Personally, I look at it as creativity...what else would I wear this look with? Seriously!!!

For my eyes used:

MUFE No. 3 e/s (Eggshell)
MAC Genuine Orange Pigment
MUFE No. 75 e/s (Neon Fuschia Pink)
MUFE No. 92 e/s (Bright Purple)
MAC Ricepaper e/s

'The Green Team' Look

The Green Team...

This look is a mish mash of MAC Pigments in Polished Ivory, Kelly Green, Landscape Green and Black Black (all PRO pigments) and I threw some MAC Velvet Moss e/s in for kicks and MAC Ricepaper e/s for highlight!

I did sort of a reverse defined crease...I used the same colors above and below the crease but in reverse...hope you can see it in the pictures...I was inspired by the beautiful and talented Lauren aka QueenOfBlendingMUA (YT)! L0VE HER!

On the lips I have MAC TLC in Popster and I'm wearing Ardell's lashes in #116.

The Elusive Eyebrow

The Elusive Eyebrow...

The bane of our existence in the makeup world as we know it!

As beauty lovers we all know that the eyebrows can ‘make or break’ the whole face. No matter how flawless and perfect your eyeshadow is or how well blended your foundation, contour and blush are, without the perfect brow the look is not well put together.
