Sonia Kashuk REMOVE Eye Makeup Remover - THOUGHTS...

THOUGHTS...

Sonia Kashuk REMOVE Eye Makeup Remover
Makeup around the eyes can be notoriously difficult to remove, but this eye makeup remover from Sonia Kashuk provides a simple and painless solution. Gently shake the canister and apply the makeup remover, conditioning your skin even as you clear away your makeup.

This fresh-as-water eye makeup remover activates when shaken to gently whisk away waterproof eye makeup while conditioning and refreshing the skin. This non-irritant sting-free formula is ideal for contact wearers and even those with the most sensitive eyes.
Directions:
Gently shake remover to activate formula. Apply remover to a soft cotton pad and gently wipe over closed eyelid to remove makeup. Rinsing optional.

Ingredients:
Contains: Water, Cyclotetrasiloxane, Isohexadecane, Hexylene Glycol, Poloxamer 184, Sodium Chloride, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzalkonium Chloride, Ext. Violet 2.

Size: 4.0 oz
Price: $9.99

The Sonia Kashuk REMOVE Eye Makeup Remover is $9.99 for 4.0 oz of product and is among the cheapest eye makeup removers on the market. Compared to higher-end brands, you pay at least 1/2 the price for the same or more product.

The Sonia Kashuk REMOVE Eye Makeup Remover is available online at Target and also in Target stores. Of course, it may also be available online at various retailers (none that I have tried or recommend).

The Sonia Kashuk REMOVE Eye Makeup Remover comes in a simple clear cylindrical bottle with a white screw cap. The product information is printed on the bottle in no-fuss, no-muss fashion. The one complaint I have here is that there is no protective seal around the bottle or over the opening. This can lead to contamination from anyone simply opening the bottle on the shelves. Ick! Buyer beware! If you are lucky to get the double pack with the free travel size bottle then these are sealed in plastic.

Another thing to note is that the bottle is not provided with a pump, a stopper or dropper to limit the flow of the product. All you get is a simple open mouth bottle. This is more likely to waste product and of course will be disastrous if overturned. This isn't such a big deal for me but others may find it quite tedious if they are used to more pour-control. So take heed!

The Sonia Kashuk REMOVE Eye Makeup Remover is a dual phase eye makeup remover meaning that it has two separate parts that need to be mixed to activate. There is a clear lavender liquid that sits at the bottom of the bottle with a cloudy counterpart at the top. When shaken they combine into a cloudy mixture and you are ready to remove your makeup using a cotton ball or pad.

This makeup remover is very good at removing makeup even waterproof types. You may need to let the remover sink in for a few seconds to remove stubborn makeup but remove it it will. It is also very gentle on the eyes so if it gets in your eye it won't sting or burn (from my experience). You don't need a lot of the product either to remove your makeup - one cotton pad full will do for both eyes.
The drawback (and it may be a big one) is that this makeup remover makes the skin around the eyes very very very dry and slightly tight. You will be left with a white residue of dry skin in its wake. This is easily resolved with some eye-cream but alas it must be noted. Having dry skin around the eye can lead to premature aging and wrinkling so you will need a moisturizer to follow up after this remover.
With that out of the way, I must note also, that this remover is rinse-optional so there is no need to remove with water. Major plus when you just don't have the time or patience to rinse your makeup remover off. It is also great for clean-up during makeup application because of this no-rinse bonus.

Shaken not stirred : )

Personally I love the Sonia Kashuk REMOVE Eye Makeup Remover and I have repurchased many times. I do hate the drying effect it has on the eyes and I keep a moisturizer handy for this reason. But because it's a no-rinse formula, it's perfect for clean-up during makeup application. It's also reasonably priced and readily available at your neighborhood Target store. I recommend this product with your trusty moisturizer handy!

Have you tried this makeup remover? What do you think? Do you want to try it?
