Size: 0.34 oz (6 eyeshadows)
Price: $36

The Ooh La Lace Baked Shimmer & Matte Eye Shadow Palette is priced at $36 for 0.34 oz for 6 full sized eyeshadows (0.056 oz each). The eyeshadows equate to $6 each which is about the same price as an NYX eyeshadow. Bargain!

The palette is cheaper than M·A·C‏ eyeshadow quads and in the general range of other mid-to-high-end brands on the market. There are 6 colors here and it is definitely a better deal than the Lorac Little Black Palette (previously reviewed) with similar colors. This may be a better option for those who are weary of the price of the smaller Lorac Little Black Palette and for only $3 more.

The Ooh La Lace Baked Shimmer & Matte Eye Shadow Palette is a Sephora Exclusive and is only available online at Sephora and in Sephora stores.

The Ooh La Lace Baked Shimmer & Matte Eye Shadow Palette is packaged in a deep grey cardboard palette overlaid with black lace to fit the theme of the palette. A metallic plague with the Lorac logo is attached on the front of the palette. Inside is a glittery black textured lining and a decent sided mirror in the lid. The palette is held shut by a magnetic clasp identical to the Little Black Palette. There are 6 raised dome baked eyeshadows arranged in two rows of three. It's a cute palette especially with the lace detailing but not all that secure for bustling travel. And since it's cardboard it can be dented if crushed. This is not such a big deal if it stays in your vanity but be mindful if you toss it into luggage. It's not flimsy or cheap by any means but just not as rigid as hard plastic.

There are no names on the palette for the eyeshadows even though Sephora seems to have listed names for the colors. I know that eyeshadows without names can be quite a hassle especially for Bloggers and YouTubers who create looks - yea ummm...3rd one, top row. But for others this may not be a big deal...you may not even notice.

These eyeshadows, just like those in the Little Black Palette, are phenomenal. Lorac hit the nail on the head with this formulation. The eyeshadows are creamy and buttery smooth and very pigmented whether they are used dry or wet. You do not have to used these wet to get the smooth, even coverage and rich pigment we all dream of. These eyeshadows are superb in texture and application. Because they are so buttery there is virtually no fallout when applied to the lids. They apply like cream eyeshadows to the skin but blend with the ease of powder. They also blend well with each other and other eyeshadows without becoming patchy or muddy (well unless you really overblend). Check out the swatches...wet versus dry...can't even tell the difference.

The colors follow a silver and bronze theme with a cream, silver and black on top and champagne, bronze and brown below. The colors can be used to create daytime looks or sultry nighttime looks.

The finish of these eyeshadows are slightly different from the Little Black Palette since they are as frosty and metallic. As the name suggests some of the shades have a more matte to semi-matte finish - black, silver (grey) and brown. The other shades are more frosty. But they all have the same buttery feel and great color payoff.

These eyeshadows are divine! The formula is amazing! These eyeshadows are creamy and dreamy. The colors are both muted earthy tones as well as sultry smokey eye colors. They can be used for day time looks or smoky nighttime looks as well. These are by far the best mineralized eyeshadows I have tried compared to other brands on the market. I recommend at least swatching these in store to see what true mineralized eyeshadows should feel like. If you love the colors then definitely go for it! This is a definite thumbs up all around!

Have you tried this palette? What do you think? Do you want to try it?

Dry/Wet
Lust (cream w/ shimmer), Smolder (matte gray), Risqué (matte black)
Stunner (light bronze w/ shimmer), Knockout (bronze w/ shimmer), Racy (matte brown)

Dry/Wet
Lust (cream w/ shimmer)
I fell in love with this color. It a gorgeous super pigmented shimmery white the likes of which I have not seen before. There is a slight gold hue that makes it look slightly pale yellow an certain angles.

Dry/Wet
Smolder (matte gray)
Pretty standard semi-matte grey color with a slight silvery shift.

Dry/Wet
Risqué (matte black)
This is a great smokey eye black. It's richly pigmented but not pitch black. There is a hint of grey to it that makes it look more deep dark slate than full on black.

Dry/Wet
Stunner (light bronze w/ shimmer)
This is a light shimmery peachy champagne. It reminds me of MAC Melon Pigment.

Dry/Wet
Knockout (bronze w/ shimmer)
This is a medium gold with an old gold feel. There is a bit of green and peach to it that makes it look a bit more tarnished than pure gold.

Dry/Wet
Racy (matte brown)
This is a medium deep brown that leans on the warm side.

  1. I knew you would love it as much as I do. I can only hope Lorac puts out more baked shadows, as I love their formula.
