'Sea of Gold and Envy' Look

'Sea of Gold and Envy' Look

When life gives you lemons make lemonade! Well that's what I tried to do here when the LA Splash Sea of Gold Pigment failed me. Note to self, pigments and loose eyeshadows need a sticky base to adhere to...at least these ones do. I picked up a few LA Splash pigments and they are beautiful in swatches but not so great in practice. I will test them out some more before I give a final verdict.

How have you guys been? How was Valentine's Day? Things have been so hectic that the blog has suffered a tad...please bear with me : )

Eyes:

PRIME:
I started off with NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base all over my lid up to the brow bone. I applied MAC Layin' Low Paintpot (matte beige) all over my lid and on my brow bone as my primary base. Sonia Kashuk Dome Blending Brush

COLOR:
On the inner lid and tearduct area I applied LA Splash Sea of Gold Pigment (shimmery gold). MAC 242 Shader Brush
Next on the middle of the I applied Rock & Republic Envy Eye Color (satin forest green). MAC 239 Eye Shader Brush
For the outer lid and crease I used Rock & Republic Fatalistic Eye Color (matte black). Sigma Medium Angled Shading E70 Brush
On the browbone area and for blending I used MAC Wild By Nature Eyeshadow (matte camel). MAC 252 Large Shader Brush
For highlight I used MAC Ricepaper Eyeshadow (shimmery champagne). MAC Large 252 Shader Brush
For my lower lashline I used the MAC Black Line Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner Pencil (shimmery black w/ green  and gold sparkles).

BROWS:
My brows are filled in with MAC Eyebrow Pencil in Stud and NARS Coconut Grove Eyeshadow (matte blackened brown). Paula Dorf Eye Definer Flat Top Brush

DEFINE:
I lined my upper lashline with Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner.
I lined my lower waterline with L'Oreal HIP Cream Eyeliner in Black. Stila #28 Smudge Pot Brush
I used Too Faced Lash Injection Mascara for my lashes and added Beautee Senses Adventurous False Eyelashes for effect.

Just a glob of gold pigment. Ick! So hard to try a fix!

Lips:

POLISH:
For my lips I used MAC Underplay Lipstick (creamy nude).

Discontinued CCO find...great nude! And it's an Amplified Creme!

Face:

FINISH:
I primed my skin with Tarte ReCreate™ Silicone-Free Primer. I used MAC Pro Longwear Foundation in NC45 - Sigma Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki Brush - for my face and set my t-zone with MAC Blot Powder in Dark. I used MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC45 - Fingers : ) under my eyes set with Benefit Powderflage - Beauty Blender Sponge.

I used MAC Amazon Princess Blush (satin peach pink) for my cheeks - MAC 129 Powder/Blush Brush, MUFE #2 Sculpting Kit for contour and highlight - Sephora Professional #49 Blush Brush.
