M∙A∙C VIVA GLAM Gaga 2 - Swatches and Thoughts...

M∙A∙C VIVA GLAM Gaga 2 - Swatches and Thoughts...

No Bad Romance here. We're unveiling a hot new shade inspired by Lady Gaga and her passions, in both Lipstick and Lipglass. And by now you know every cent from the sale of M∙A∙C VIVA GLAM goes toward the M∙A∙C AIDS Fund.

Whether you are a Gaga fan or not, the M∙A∙C Viva Glam products are always for a good cause. Plus the shades tend to be flattering on most skintones. I actually think the Gaga shades are the least universal and may not be the easiest shades for all of us to wear. So even if Viva Glam Gaga is not for you definitely check out the other shades.

Doesn't the promo picture look awesome? I have no idea what Gaga even looks like because every time I see her I see a different look. Plus she has one of those faces that would blend into a crowd. But she looks very pretty here.

The VIVA GLAM and Lady Gaga collaboration takes off again with a shade as enigmatic as the Diva's star persona. A light warm beige with an Amplified finish, the look is as cool as only she can be. All monies raised go the M∙A∙C AIDS Fund to help support people living with HIV/AIDS. Limited edition.

My Thoughts...

The M∙A∙C Viva Glam campaign is one of the reasons I admire M∙A∙C and is probably the only reason I really went out and got these products. I gave no thought to Gaga or the color and was just supporting the cause to be honest.

VIVA GLAM Gaga 2 Lipstick is a creamy light neutral nude that leans a bit on the peachy side but not too much. The finish is an Amplified Creme so it is very creamy, smooth and richly pigmented. The light creamy color is not very forgiving though and will accentuate lines and imperfections on the lips....so exfoliate! The color itself is bit too light for my skintone so darker ladies beware. I think the color will look great on light-to-(light)medium complexions.

VIVA GLAM Gaga 2 Lipglass is a bit more wearable and it a creamy medium neutral color with very subtle iridescent sparkles. This is more of a true neutral and can go well with the majority of skintones. For me it's a great neutral color for topping nude lipsticks. It is also nicely pigmented and creamy but again can emphasize lines and dry lips.

  1. I knew that this shade would do nothing for me so I decided to skip this one.

  2. I love this combo. I picked up two of each for my collection.

  3. I ordered this. I'm a darker complexion so I'm going to have to find a liner to tone it down but I loved being able to support what they stand for so I bought it anyway.

  4. I went out as soon as it was available and got this one! I did notice it is a bit light on my skintone but somehow it does tone down and blend in after a while. Not sure how but it definitely does. Also, I try not to apply too much or else it definitely does look really pale/bright. I found this to be a perfect nude for me :-)

  5. I have them and I love it, and you know I am darker, with a good liner it is workable.

  6. I like this shade but I much prefer pink toned nudes like Blankety or Hue, they work much better on my undertones. The lip gloss is I feel too brown for me.

Thanks for the review and great swatches as always sweetie :)

  7. Girl!

I tried these on at the MAC counter over the weekend and they gave me the "Tyrone Biggums" look, so I put them back on the counter! LOL!(google Tyrone Biggums if you don't know who I'm talking about)

  8. LOL @TyroneBiggums... that is EXACTLY what I thought of when I saw the color of this lipstick!!! I miss the Chappelle's show. It is for a good cause though, but I fear wearing it & looking like pookie from new jack city... might be good for a contest/giveaway?

  9. ROTFLOL @ Miss Brina! Oh no you didn't!
Not POOKIE from New Jack City!!!
I was really surprised how awful it looked on me considering I'm one of those "yellow-skinned gals"
