'Spring Burst' Look

'Spring Burst' Look

For this look I decided to go back to my roots with bright colors! You guys may have been missing the usual bright looks but they will be making a comeback especially as it starts to warm up a bit more weather-wise.

I wanted to do a video last night but alas my face would not allow it. I have terrible burn/scratch marks on my face from testing out a personal micro-dermabrasion kit for review (at least I know what to warn you about here). The burns/scratches hurt ALOT and gave me hell for daring to put makeup over them in the first place. I washed my face, applied cream and went to pout on my couch in pain. As soon as I feel better I'll do the videos. Thanks for understanding.

Hope all is going well with you guys and you aren't having as bad a week as I am so far!

Eyes:PRIME:
I started off with NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base all over my lid up to the brow bone. I applied MAC Layin' Low Paintpot (creamy beige) all over my lid and slightly into the crease as my primary base. Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush

COLOR:
For the inner lid and tearduct area I used MAC Vanilla Eyeshadow (matte ivory w/ sparkle). MAC 239 Eye Shader Brush
On the middle of the lid I applied the MAC True Chartreuse Pigment (matte chartreuse green). MAC 239 Eye Shader Brush
On the outer lid I applied the Magnolia Makeup 011 Chlorine Pigment (bright blue w/ sheen). Sonia Kaskuk Large Crease Brush
To deepen the outer V I used the Magnolia Makeup 125 Mystique Pigment (deep bright blue w/ sheen). Sonia Kaskuk Large Crease Brush
On the browbone area for blending and highlight I used the matte nude eyeshadow from the Sleek Storm Makeup PaletteSonia Kaskuk Large Crease Brush
For highlight I used Bare Escentuals Clear Radiance All Over Face Color (shimmery light pink). MAC 252 Large Shader Brush
For my lower lashline I used MAC Blue Glitter (shimmery deep purple). MAC 228 Mini Shader Brush

BROWS:
My brows are filled in with MAC Eyebrow Pencil in Stud and NARS Coconut Grove Eyeshadow (matte blackened brown). Paula Dorf Eye Definer Flat Top Brush

DEFINE:
I lined my upper lashline with Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eye Liner in Blue.
I lined my lower waterline with L'Oreal HIP Cream Eyeliner in Black. Sigma Eye Liner - E05 Brush
I used L'Oreal Carbon Black Voluminous Mascara for my lashes and added #415 Eyelashes from Nigels Beauty Emporium for effect.

Lips: POLISH:
For my lips I used MAC Honeylove Lipstick (matte coral nude) topped with MAC So Vain Kissable Lipcolor (creamy coral).

Face:
FINISH:
I primed my skin with a test moisturizer. I used Tarte ReCreate™ Anti-Aging Foundation in Walnut 20 - Sigma Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki Brush - for my face and set my t-zone with Tarte Smooth Operator™ Micronized Clay Finishing Powder - Sigma Round Top Synthetic Kabuki Brush.

I used MAC Mighty Aphrodite Blush (warm pink peach w/ sheen) for my cheeks - MAC 129 Powder/Blush Brush and MUFE #2 Sculpting Kit for contour - Sigma Angled Top Synthetic Kabuki Brush.

  2. LOVE the relaxed hair! :D As for the burns and scratches - get better dear! Why would you use such a kit anyway, with that babysoft skin of yours ;)

  7. First of all...I'm so sorry about what happened to your skin. I hope it recovers and goes back to the naturally beautiful skin you have.

Secondly...this look is F-A-B!!! I'm happy to see that you're going back to bright looks. I'm doing the same and I'm on a serious Magnolia kick. Despite what the naysayers say, you look GREAT with bright and bold colors.

  8. Thanks so much Dani. The hair was so easy to do and I was feeling lazy. Hahahaha! It doesn't curl much anymore tho which is too bad...but the waves r cool too. The scratches are my fault..user error...it's a great way to refresh your skin but it comes with some pain. Fingers crossed that the week improves.

Thanks Godfrina! Hahahahaaa! It's not as babysoft as I would like :). I exfoliate anyway so this is an alternative method to use...but I overdid it and messed up my skin! Crazy me! Now I have to heal which sux so much! U r totally right about the beachy look too! Didn't even think of it until u said it. :)

Thx Tyshie bear! This better heal before TMS! Lawd lawd!

Thanks Mercedes girl! U know I love my brights! :) Had to test this bad boy out to do a review and I attacked my face with it. Tsk tsk! Thanks fo rthe get well wishes...let's hop I do...oh lord if it leaves a scar I will be mad! And yep it's True Chartreuse...it can look more yellow or green depending on what it's paired with. It looks yellow in person right now too.

Thx Viva. Magnolia rules! I just love their pigments and glitters!
