Too Faced Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue - THOUGHTS...

Too Faced Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue - THOUGHTS...

An extension of our best-selling Shadow Insurance Eye Shadow Primer, Glitter Glue was specifically formulated to lock-down glitter and enhances its reflective quality. Our colorless cream formula is designed to grab and hold loose glitter, pigments and shimmers in place, insuring they wont come off until you take them off.

Easy to Use! Blend a small bead of Glitter Glue directly onto lids or anywhere you want Glamour Dust or shimmer product to adhere. Using your finger or a small shadow brush, press the formula onto lids for an iridescent lockdown effect.

Immaculate Application: Our formula eliminates messy fall out. Glitter, loose powders and shimmer products instantly lockdown. Never experience a face full of glitter again!

Size:  0.35 oz
Price: $18

My Five Ps

Price
The Too Faced Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue is priced at $18 for the 0.35 oz. This is the same price and size as the original Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eye Shadow Primer which is nice to know that they didn't increase the price simply because it's a different formula. Compared to Urban Decay Primer Potion (new squeeze tubes) which retail for $19 for 0.37 oz or NARS Smudge Proof Eye Shadow Base at $24 for 0.28 oz, the Too Faced primers tend to come out on top in terms of price and size. Overall it is priced as expected for the brand and market.

I do not know of any other cream/gel/lotion-type glitter primers on the market (I may be uninformed) that are specifically designed for glitter adhesion. However, there are a few liquid glitter base products out there such as Eye Kandy Liquid Sugar Glitter Base or Lit Cosmetics Clearly Liquid Glitter Base. These are not comparable since simply out they are liquid versus cream/gel/lotion-type primers - different beasts.

Mind you, there are other cream/gel/lotion-type primers/bases that can be used for glitter adhesion including MAC Mixing Medium Gel, MAC Eyeliner Mixing Medium, LA Splash Eyeshadow Sealer Base, eyelash glue for that matter, etc. However, none of these are marketed as a glitter base/primer and are really innovative methods employed by us beauty lovers to get our sparkle on!

So technically, I do not think it's fair to do price comparisons with these improvisational techniques when they are not truly comparable.

Purchasing
The Too Faced Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue is available at Sephora stores, Sephora.com, Ulta stores and Ulta.com as well as on the Too Faced website.

Packaging
The Too Faced Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue comes in a squeeze tube with a extended needle-point tip similar to the original Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eyeshadow Primer. The tube is black with a aqua screw cap and aqua colored decals and product details. This differentiates it from the original so you won't go mixing them up in a drawer. The tube is sleek and functional and has always been my favorite package for primers. Since there is no applicator wand or open jar, the product stays sanitary and isn't prone to 'drying out' like with other primers on the market.

Product & Performance
The Too Faced Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue is intended to be used with glitter to provide better adhesion than regular primers or using glitter on their own. The product itself is white but applies clear to the skin and has a sticky creamy texture.

This product works very well for securing glitter to the lids themselves or over eyeshadow. It also does not disturb or change the color of the eyeshadow underneath it which is a great plus over liquid glitter bases. The glitter glue works nicely with chunky or finely milled glitter and helps to minimize fallout while extending wear time. I do advise that you use a decent amount of the primer to cover the area you wish to apply the glitter to and use either your fingers or a small brush to apply the glitter as Too Faced recommends. This will help to minimize the fallout. Also, apply the glitter in small areas by pressing or patting it on rather than swiping it across the lid. I was able to get 8+ hours of glitter wear while using this glitter glue.

There is no room for blending here since once the glitter is set, it is set. Your application must be very deliberate in this case...it really is like glue. :)

Note: This does not work well with eyeshadows and loose pigments but does wonders with glitter!

Overall
The Too Faced Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue is a great addition to the beauty market and will be a great product for glitter lovers. If you love glitter and you are looking a good glitter primer then this is a great option.

LOL Tysh! I know I am but I will never lead u astray :) It's the best for glitter for sure.

I hear that Erin! I saw that u got it too. Awesome!

Hey Andrea, it's a primer for glitter and not a glue. The name is misleading and it's tacky almost like glue but it is a glitter primer or base.
