The M∙A∙C Pro Longwear Eyeshadows are priced at for $20 for 0.11 oz of product. These eyeshadows are larger than the average sized eyeshadows which typically have 0.05 oz of product. They are also more expensive than the average mid-end brand of eyeshadows. However, the price/amount ratio works in our favor and we get more value from these versus comparable eyeshadows (based on price per oz).

When compared to drugstore eyeshadows it is obvious that these are much more expensive but alas sometimes we do pay for quality.

The price is within the range of comparable eyeshadows while the amount of product is 30-50% more. If you are willing to spend the extra moolaa then you will for sure get your money's worth.

The M∙A∙C Pro Longwear Eyeshadows debuted with the M∙A∙C Styledriven Collection and are a new addition to the M∙A∙C permanent range of products. They are available for purchase on the MAC (stores and online) and other M∙A∙C retailers such as Nordstrom, Macy's Bloomingdales and Dillard’s.

The M∙A∙C Pro Longwear Eyeshadows are housed in black plastic flip-top pots with a clear domed window at the top. This type of packaging is usual for M∙A∙C's larger sized eyeshadows (Mineralize, Tartan Tale, Jeanius) and cream color bases.

The packaging is sturdy and travel friendly albeit not much of a space saver. There are many beauty lovers out there who 'de-pot' their eyeshadows and add them to palettes to save space and organize the colors/textures together. Since these are larger sized pots they will not fit average sized palettes unless the dividers are removed.

My preference is to keep all my eyeshadows in the regular packaging. With M∙A∙C eyeshadows it is easy to see the colors through the clear window at the top of the pot which is convenient when searching for color in your collection.

The M∙A∙C Pro Longwear Eyeshadows are touted as long-wearing, long-lasting, creamy smooth eyeshadows with buildable color intensity.

The eyeshadows are overall smooth in texture but not creamy or silky as claimed. I have felt far silkier and creamier eyeshadows to include these in that category. The eyeshadows are firm but not hard which will require a denser brush to pick up and deposit the color for greater intensity. However, since the eyeshadows are firmer to the touch, that also means that they do not have the loose powdery effect of some softer eyeshadows which can lead to fallout. The fallout from these is minimal to non-existent.

The eyeshadows have a new formula but similar finishes to the usual M∙A∙C eyeshadow finishes. The frost finish is slightly different from the usual frost finish since these do not have high shine. They have a slight sheen rather than an overwhelming frost. The satin finishes with semi-matte with a slight sheen.

The color intensity is buildable as stated and can be used to create a wash of color or packed-on for more color intensity. It doesn't take much product to achieve strong color payoff which is a great plus. The pigmentation is indeed very good for the colors that I picked up. The colors are not very unusual or unique but are nice to have as solid base colors in your collection.

These eyeshadows blend easily and wear very well without or without a primer. They do not show any signs of noticeable color fade up to 8 hours of wear. However, if you have very oily lids and/or are crease-prone then I suggest using a primer before applying these eyeshadows. There was slight (very slight) creasing in these eyeshadows when used without a primer about 6 hours into wear for me. The creasing was not enough for me to grade these poorly at all but just enough to say my eyeshadow did not look as fresh as new a few hours into wear.

The M∙A∙C Pro Longwear Eyeshadow are a nice addition to the M∙A∙C permanent range. They have great color payoff and wear very well throughout the day. While the texture is not as silky or creamy as claimed, they still apply smoothly without any issues of fallout. They are priced higher than the usual M∙A∙C eyeshadows but are also almost twice the size. While they are not the most unique colors on the market they are still solid additions to a collection. If you want to try out a couple of shades I think they are worth it!
