'Electric Chain Link' Look

'Electric Chain Link' Look

It's about time I used some of the Rock & Republic eye colors I picked up right??!!! LOL. Yes I think so!

This look is a very simple smoky silver with a pop of blue which I am really loving. Oh...and I am having a (re)affair with MUFE HD Foundation. It really gives a flawless finish and looks great in pictures.

Eyes:

PRIME:
I started off with NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base all over my lid up to the brow bone. No additional base.
COLOR:
On the inner lid and tearduct area I applied Rock & Republic Chain Link Eye Color (shimmery light silver). MAC 239 Eye Shader Brush
Next on the middle of the I applied Rock & Republic Nailed Eye Color (shimmery silver). MAC 239 Eye Shader Brush
On the outer lid and crease I applied Rock & Republic Fatalistic Eye Color (matte black). Sonia Kashuk Large Crease Brush
On the browbone area and for blending I used Rock & Republic Spy Eye Color (shimmery nude). MAC Large 252 Shader Brush
For my lower lashline I used Rock & Republic Fatalistic Eye Color (matte black) - OUTER and Rock & Republic Fatalistic Eye Color (shimmery blue) - INNER. Sonia Kashuk Smudge Brush

BROWS:
My brows are filled in with MAC Eyebrow Pencil in Stud and NARS Coconut Grove Eyeshadow (matte blackened brown). Paula Dorf Eye Definer Flat Top Brush

DEFINE:
I lined my upper lashline with Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner.
I lined my lower waterline with L'Oreal HIP Cream Eyeliner in Black. Stila #28 Smudge Pot Brush
I used Too Faced Lash Injection Mascara for my lashes and added Beautee Senses Demi Pixie False Eyelashes for effect.

Lips:

POLISH:
For my lips I used MAC Vanity Fair Lipcolor (creamy pink).

Face:

FINISH:
I primed my skin with MAC Oil Control Lotion and Tarte Clean Slate Primer. I used MUFE HD Invisible Cover Foundation in #173 - Sigma Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki Brush - for my face and set my t-zone with MAC Blot Powder in Dark. I used MUFE #14 Full Cover Concealer - Fingers : ) under my eyes set with Benefit Powderflage - Beauty Blender Sponge.

I used MUFE #10 Sculpting Blush (matte pink) for my cheeks - MAC 129 Powder/Blush Brush and MUFE #2 Sculpting Kit for contour and highlight - MAC 168 Large Angled Contour Brush.

Price
The sale price is fantastic! They are $14 on sale and $7 after discount for an eyeshadow that is double the size of a MAC eyeshadow (0.11oz to 0.05oz)! Even at full price ($28) they are still cheaper than a MAC eyeshadow per ounce. Hello bargain!

Packaging
If you are familiar with Rock & Republic cosmetics then you know the packaging is top notch. It exudes decadence and luxury. The eye colors come in silver and black metallic packaging with the R&R logo embossed on the top and a mirror inside. The container is solid and sturdy for sure! Add to that the box that they come with. It is a sleek round box reminiscent of a watch case. Interesting for just an eyeshadow but of course high end luxury brands go all out.

Product
Oh my gosh! These are the smoothest, most finely milled eyeshadows I have ever tried in my life! I expected high quality of course but wow! These are so smooth and silky, almost like second skin. They are pigmented but in a neutral, subtle sense. These are not bold in your face colors but rather richly pigmented everyday neutral shades. Maybe you have to see swatches to understand. the color payoff is great but the texture is phenomenal! LOVE!

Performance
These glide onto the skin like butter with our without primer. They are very true to color and blend beautifully. Oh how divine. I have nothing bad to say!

Overall
At these prices these are definitely worth it! Even the original price is worth it if you want rich decadent color from a high-end brand. The eyeshadows are smooth and buttery. Note that these are neutral subtle shades so do not expect bright colors at all.
