The Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliners are priced at $18 for 0.058 oz. There are quite a few of these new age liquid liners popping up on the scene with the popular ones from M∙A∙C, Stila and MUFE. The price didn't initially throw me until I realized how much product you actually get. And honestly I should have been prepared since I was already mad at the M∙A∙C version back when they were released with the Fabulous Felines Collection. However, the Urban Decay version is still on the cheaper end (of the high-end brands) with the same amount of product.

Now of course there are cheaper drugstore options for the budget conscious and also for the savvy/smart shopper! But alas sometimes price reflects quality so even though you may find cheaper versions they may not carry the wear time and pigmentation of the higher-end brands. Pick your poison here...you may be dying for a navy blue liner or a forest green one and may get lots of use from it...or you may use it once. If it's worth it to you I say why not!

The Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliners are available at Sephora stores, Sephora.com, Ulta stores, Ulta.com, UrbanDecay.com and other Urban Decay retailers. There are 11 shades available in fun colors such as pink, red, greens, blue, purples, gold, silver as well as neutral shades such as black and brown. The finishes also vary from shimmer to sheen to matte.

The Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliners come in sleek hard plastic tubes which are the color of the product inside. There is no mistaking what color you are grabbing when you reach for these.

The cap is long and thin to imitate the handle of an eyeliner brush (actually longer than the tube itself). This is great since is helps with application. The applicator itself has a short brush which is flexible but rigid enough to draw a steady line. The brush hairs also stay in place but may fray if not handled with care. Personally I prefer brush applicators but others may favor a felt tip. The applicator will be hit or miss depending on your preferences.

One great plus to this packaging is the included agitator ball. There is a tiny ball inside the liner tube that is meant to mix the product by shaking. This is perfect for avoiding separation of the pigment and liquid base inside the tube and even worse on your skin. So shake well before each use.

Even the outer package is pretty - all decked out in iridescent silver holographic loveliness!

There are 11 colors to choose from which include brights and neutrals and even some nice standout shades to really grab your attention. There are also a few finishes to choose from mattes to shimmer. These liners are thankfully not packed with chunky sparse glitter.

The formula is also not waterproof but rather water resistant - meaning they will not run if they get wet. This is a plus if you want a liner that stays put if you get caught in the rain or start crying (because you miss out on a LE makeup item...or something) but doesn't not require waterproof makeup remover to get off. But don't expect to take and swim in these and have them stay in place. In fact, don't touch your eyes at all while wearing these because they can peel off.

With that being said I still did not experience flaking (when I left the liner alone) and had a full 6-8 hours of solid wear. I found that a little cracking did start about 3 hours into wear but it didn't lead to any mishaps thankfully.

These can take some time to dry depending on the thickness of the layers can take well over 1 minute to completely dry. You will need to keep your eye closed for a bit to avoid transfer. This can be a pain but what to do.

The darker shades are richly pigmented when swatched and even when applied to the lid. The lighter shades will take a couple of layers to get full color and smooth/even application but they are still decently opaque in one swipe. I had no issues with these being too watery or runny and they didn't bleed onto the skin. They are easily removed with plain soap and water and I have no issues with staining at all. The swatches show light and heavy swipes to give a better idea of the pigmentation.I love all the colors so I can't even pick faves....but based on your preference you may only get one : )

The colors are bright and fun and the formula is definitely waterproof, budge-proof and smudge-proof. I am happy with the formula (not runny or sheer), I love the packaging and applicator but the amount vs. price still irks me. Since these are higher end and have a great formula I would still say check them out and bite the bullet for the price. The MAC versions are the cheapest but these are a close 2nd with much more fun colors to choose from. Top choice out of MAC, MUFE and Stila!

Have you tried these liquid liners? What do you think?

  2. Thanks! I've tried the Urban Decay liners and they are great! Great colors, great staying power. I also bought one of the Stilla liners, it sucked. I was on travel and forgot my Siren Urban Decay liner. Went to Sephora but they were out of that color. I was in a pinch, so I bought the Silla. I used it just like I would any other brand on my eyelid close to my lashes. I was on a date, went to the bathroom and was horrified to see blotchy turquoise liner all under my eyes. He never said a word, maybe he thought it was supposed to be like that. Anyway, I spent a long time in the bathroom trying to repair my make up. Not fun!! Stilla sucks!
