'Play It Cool' Look

This look is using the 6 Beauties Play It Cool Eyeshadow Palette from the MAC A Tartan Tale Collection. The colors turned out to be pretty dark all around so I suppose it's a cool smokey purple palette. Hmmmm.....I guess I'm OK with it...LOL!

Eyes:

PRIME:

I started off with NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base all over my lid up to the brow bone. I applied MAC Layin' Low Paintpot (matte beige) all over my lid and on my brow bone as my primary base.

COLOR:

On my inner lid and tearduct I applied MAC Silverwear Eyeshadow (frosted metallic lavender).  

Next on the middle of the I applied MAC Hold My Gaze Eyeshadow (frosty medium grey).
On the crease I applied MAC To the Ball Eyeshadow (satin dusty lavender ).

For the outer lid crease I used MAC Altered State Eyeshadow (shimmery purple grape).

To deepen the outer V I used MAC Heather Belles Eyeshadow (shimmery charcoal/carbon).

On browbone area and for blending I used Smashbox Nude Eyeshadow (matte nude).

For my lower lashline I used MAC Magic Moor Eyeshadow (shimmery blackened plum) - OUTER and MAC Silverwear Eyeshadow (frosted metallic lavender) - INNER.

BROWS:
My brows are filled in with MAC Eyebrow Pencil in Stud and NARS Coconut Grove Eyeshadow (matte blackened brown).

DEFINE:
I lined my upper lashline with Wet 'n' Wild Gel Eyeliner in Black.
I lined my lower waterline with L'Oreal HIP Cream Eyeliner in Black.
I used MAC Opulash Mascara in Black for my lashes and added Beautee Senses Annie False Eyelashes for effect.

Lips:

POLISH:
For my lips I used MAC Snob Lipstick (bubblegum pink) topped with MAC English Accents Lipglass (creamy pink).

Face:


FINISH:
I prepped my skin with MAC Oil Control Lotion. I used MAC Pro Longwear Foundation in NC45 for my face set my t-zone with MAC Blot Powder in Dark. I used MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW35 and NC45 under my eyes set with Benefit Powderflage Set.
I used MAC Plum Foolery Blush (shimmery dusty plum)  for my cheeks and MAC Oh So Fair Beauty Powder (light pink) for highlight.

For this look I used two of the new pigments from the MAC A Tartan Tale Collection. I look these pigments but I still need to get a feel for true smokey looks. I forgot my lip stuff at home and had to go bare lipped for the day. Not as bad as I thought but I felt a tad naked. :) 

Eyes:

PRIME:

On the outer lid and crease I applied MAC The Family Crest Pigment (blackened bronze w/ pearl).

On browbone area and for blending I used Smashbox Nude Eyeshadow (matte nude).
For highlight I used Bare Escentuals Clear Radiance All Over Face Color (shimmery light pink).

For my lower lashline I used MAC Moonlight Night Pigment (blackened teal w/ pearl).

BROWS:
My brows are filled in with MAC Eyebrow Pencil in Stud and NARS Coconut Grove Eyeshadow (matte blackened brown).

I lined my upper lashline with Wet 'n' Wild Gel Eyeliner in Black.

Lips:

Nothing but Blistex (forgot my lips stuff at home on the couch...LOL).

I prepped my skin with Stila One Step Correct Primer. I used MAC Pro Longwear Foundation in NC45 for my face set my t-zone with MAC Blot Powder in Dark. I used MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW35 and NC45 under my eyes set with Benefit Powderflage Set.
I used MAC Melba Blush (matte coral peach) for my cheeks and MUFE #2 Sculpting Kit for contour and highlight.

These are the stars of the collection for me with the Pearlglide Intense Liners being the co-stars. These pigments are PERFECT for smokey looks! They are amazing darkened pigments with varying color pearl reflects.

Later is a re-promote from the Alice and Olivia Collection and is a gorgeous purple pearl that can read blue violet at times as well. Moonlight Night is just divine. It's a blackened green with teal and blue pearl. The Family Crest is a blackened brown/bronze with purple, pink and golden bronze pearl. Just look at the swatches to see how beautiful these pigments truly are. They are super pigmented when used dry but the true beauty (as in the pearl reflects) show up when used wet.

Say hello to the co-stars of the collection - the Pearlglide Intense Liners! These are great and if you have any experience with pearlglides then you know what I mean. They have rich intense color payoff and apply smoothly. These are packed with sparkly glitter and should not be used on the waterline (scratched cornea anyone?).

Lord It Up won me over with it's warm bronze color and subtle golden bronze shimmer. Undercurrent is the winner in this line-up with a beautiful green teal base and yellow gold shimmer. Petrol Blue is a pretty deep blue base and lighter blue glitter. Black Swan is a great black color with multi color reflects - I see blue, purple silver and green.

My Highland Honey - Bright coral w/ soft gold pearl

My Highland Honey is a nice light orange coral with very little sheen. It's a great highlight color for darker skin because of the orange hue. It should look great on lighter skin too.

These eyeshadows are very sheer and shimmery. They have a beautiful tartan imprint on the top layer of the eyeshadow - it does not go all the way through. A Wish Come True is a light frosty rose pink color. Glamora Castle is a nice frosty gunmetal silver/grey color. These are not too special but are cute for collection purposes. If you like frosty light shades then these may be for you.

This palette contains 6 beautiful cool shades of purples. Siverwear is a light shimmery lavender that reminds me of Crystal or Digit Eyeshadow. Hold My Gaze is a great medium shade of grey with golden reflects. It's a very unique and gorgeous shade. To The Ball is a darker lavender grey color with a near matte finish. Altered State and Magic Moor are nicely pigmented darkened plum and grape purple shades. Heather Belles is a dark charcoal almost black color with a almost matte finish. All the shades are pigmented and great to work with (used a primer/base of course).

Dame is a permanent shade and is a medium blue pink that can work well on lighter and darker skin tones. Plum Foolery is also permanent and is a nice rose pink color with a light sheen.
