QUICK TIP - Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Foundation

QUICK TIP - Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Foundation

From Make Up For Ever:

In case of very oily skin, mix Mat Velvet + with a small amount of All Mat. Aply where needed or across the entire face.

I happen to own both the MUFE Mat Velvet + Foundation and the MUFE All Mat Primer but never knew about mixing the two together. After reading this advice on the Make Up For Ever website I had to give it a try. Who knew? This gives a great oil-free and shine-free matte effect which I love and this way I don't have to layer product on top of product. Just mix and apply. Interesting concept. Maybe it would work for other primers and foundations too....off to experiment....

Do you guys know any other tips and advice for commonly used makeup products? Feel free to share (you may be quoted in a TIP post). Thanks!

  1. I have Mat + , I'll try mixing it with one of my primers and see how it goes.

  4. Thanks for the tip. I was really not enjoying the finish on the Mat Velvet+, but mixing with the primer instead of layering made me happier. and it held up in yesterday's heat!

  7. Hey guys! I have been using this trick for daily use now and I love it. I have been mixing any and every primer with any and every foundation and it's fab. My foundation applies easier due to the thinner consistency and it lasts longer as well. I also notice that I stay matte (I mix with a matte primer) for most of the day too.

  8. I read this tip yesterday and tried a variation of it this morning (Tarte Smooth Operator tinted moisturizer + Tarte Clean Slate primer). The primer thickened my tinted moisturizer a bit giving me better coverage but it still felt lightweight on my skin. I usually skip the layer of primer but I'll be doing this everyday now. Thanks!
