My Four Ps

Price
The Sleek Eyeshadow Palettes retail for $10 on http://www.sleekmakeup.com/ with an additional $13.50 for international shipping to the US. I factored in the shipping because these palettes are not available in the US and in most cases you will need to pay international shipping fees as well. Honestly I don't think the shipping is outlandish either since they are coming from the UK afterall. Now obviously the more products you purchase the better the deal will be since the $13.50 shipping cost covers the entire purchase.
On their own, $10 per palette is quite a deal. You get 12 eyeshadows that contain 1.1g of product each for a grand total of 13.2g of product. Compare these to M∙A∙C Eyeshadows which are $14.50 for 1.5g of product. Even with shipping these amount to less than $2 per eyeshadow. Quite a steal.

These are considered drugstore makeup in the UK....our equivalent of say NYX or Wet 'n' Wild. They are priced closer to NYX palettes rather than Wet 'n' Wild (no one beats WnW prices).

Packaging
These eyeshadows come housed in a sleek (quite fitting) black palette with a full-sized mirror inside the lid. The eyeshadows are a bit smaller than a M∙A∙C Eyeshadow and are embossed with a waffle design. They also come with a double ended sponge applicator which is recommended for 'best results'
The palette sports the sleek makeup logo on the front and a label on the back indicating the name of the palette, the ingredients and all that jazz. The eyeshadows do not have individual names which can be a bit tedious in our beauty world of swatches and looks.

Product & Performance
All but one of the shades are frosts, high frosts at that, with one lonely matte black shade. While the eyeshadows swatch nicely I must note that they have potential for fallout. They are not completely silky smooth but rather have a chunky feel to them that remind me of the M∙A∙C Lustre finish...particularly the entire bottom row. The black, purple and deep slate colors swatch beautifully and are blissfully smooth. The lighter blue shades swatch nicely but almost identical and the green swatched sheerly.

As said before the bottom row has spotty shades that swatch and apply with a slight chunky finish. The two pinks again look almost identical to each other. However, the shades are workable with a good primer/base and can make great highlight colors.

Overall
I am on the fence with this one. The first 3 eyeshadows in the top row are nicely pigmented and gorgeous. They are also smooth to the touch and glide on with ease. However, the other colors have spotty colors and the two light pink colors look almost identical to each other. I am not impressed enough by 3 colors to splurge for the entire palette but some may like the other sheer colors based on their personal preference.

PICTURES & SWATCHES

Top Row: The black, purple and slate grey are beautiful and the two blues look identical but also swatch nicely. The green is very sheer.

Bottom Row: The first 3 shades would make nice highlighters and the next 3 are sheer and neutral.

  1. Glad you got your hands on them. They are all over the place here in the UK and they are such a great value for money.

  2. I found with all the shimmery sleek colours you can put mixing medium onto the actual eyeshadow and use it wet that way, it helps with the fallout and some of the sheerer colours :)

  3. Mercedes I think they r a great value for UK beauty lovers but here in the US the shipping is killer.

Thx so much Anonymous. I try no tto use my eyeshadows wet and I know many of us don't want to do that either but that's a great tip to keep in mind.
