St. Patty's Day Nails w/ Tutorial

St. Patty's Day Nails w/ Tutorial

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all! In celebration I painted my nails to match the theme of the day - GREEN!!!

Here's the overall design...

Nail polishes used...
OPI Gargantuan Green Grape
OPI Gargantuan Green Grape Matte
China Glaze Four Leaf Clover (quite fitting to the theme right?)
Hard As Nails Emerald City
So Easy Stripe Rite in White, Black and Gold Glitter
Q-Art Paint in Green

Tutorial..CONT'D....after the break....

First I applied one thin coat of OPI Gargantuan Green Grape all over my nails and let it dry. This will apply thinly and give a good base of light green to your nails.

Next using OPI Gargantuan Green Grape Matte apply a quick diagonal brush stroke to the base of the nails. This is a deeper and more opaque green than it's predecessor (the original).

Follow this with another quick stroke of China Glaze Four Leaf Clover above the first stroke. This should be done in the opposite direction of the first.

Next we do the same thing with Hard As Nails Emerald City. Again apply in the opposite direction of the second stroke.

Now for the nail art. Apply two thin lines of the So Easy Stripe Rite in White. One at the base of the nails and one on the opposite side closer to the top of the nail.

Repeat with the So Easy Stripe Rite in Black right next to the white.

Next is the little Shamrock design. I did this using the Q-Art Paint in Green. First make three small dots with the tip of the brush and then join all three dots with a small line in the form of a stem.

Then add two stripes with the So Easy Stripe Rite in Gold Glitter along the black and white stripes.  Apply top coat and we are done!
