REVIEW & SWATCHES | NEW INGLOT Body Pigments (MATTES)

REVIEW & SWATCHES | NEW INGLOT Body Pigments (MATTES)

Inglot Body Pigment Powder Matte
INGLOT introduces a highly pigmented matte collection of 20 Loose Body Pigments, which guarantee intense and long lasting colour. Use on face and body for a powerful pop of colour that is durable and won’t fall off. Pigments can be used alone or mixed with other pigments to customize your very own colours. The delicate, oil-free formula is parabens free and ensures perfect application. Apply INGLOT’s Eye Makeup Base before use and remove with Face Makeup Remover Waterproof.

FUN TIP:  Warm pink and orange shades work great when combined with INGLOT lip gloss.

Price: $14
Size: 1 g / 0.04 oz
Availability: www.inglotusa.com
The following numbers are not to be used in the lip area: 71, 149, 152, 153, 195, 202, 253
The following numbers are not to be used in the eye area: 124, 126, 171, 174, 214

The Inglot Body Pigments are priced at $14 for 1 g / 0.04 oz of product.

The price is within the usual Inglot price range for their products while the product size syncs up with the high(er)-end brands on the market. For me this is somewhat of a double edged sword - while I am happy to pay less for these pigments than I would pay for M·A·C, Make Up For Ever and Illamasqua, I also wanted to get a bit more product for the money. But that's just me being greedy :)

The Inglot Body Pigments are within the mid-range of pigment prices between indie brands and mid-to-high-end brands. However, the indie brands and surprisingly M·A·C (well not surprising to me since MAC actually has great price/size ratio for their pigments) give more product for the price versus the Inglot product size.

Either way, you get a lot of product for your money and will probably not run out of one of these pigments any time soon even with regular usage. Inglot Body Pigments are offered at a good price and are great quality!

The Inglot Body Pigments are available in store at various Inglot locations as well as online at the Inglot website in the US. There are 20 matte and 20 pearl shades to choose from ranging from neutral tones to intense colors. This review will focus on the matte finishes only (those are my faves after all)!

The packaging for the Inglot Body Pigments is a very basic clear plastic jar with a black screw-on lid. The plastic is very thick and robust with a solid cover which is great for durability and travel. These come without a sifter lid which may or may not be an issue for some. The lids also fit snugly onto the containers for added secureness and prevention against product spillage during storage.

There is a label on the bottom of each jar that indicates the eyeshadow number, size, company location, suggested shelf life.

Inglot uses numbers for their products rather than names which can make our makeup lives difficult to say the least. Names are much easier for us to remember and it becomes quite a task to recall numbers for swatches/looks/tutorials/random makeup chats! I suppose it would be daunting to give names to all their products now but I wish they would consider it.

INGLOT "introduces a highly pigmented matte collection of 20 Loose Body Pigments, which guarantee intense and long lasting colour. Use on face and body for a powerful pop of colour that is durable and won’t fall off. Pigments can be used alone or mixed with other pigments to customize your very own colours. The delicate, oil-free formula is parabens free and ensures perfect application."

The Inglot Body Pigments (Mattes) are extremely finely milled and smooth. They glide unto the skin without tugging or dragging for an even layer of pigmented silky color. Matte shades can be prone to being chalky, powdery and patchy. However, these pigments are creamy without being chalky except for #237 which applies slightly patchy.

The The Inglot Body Pigments are available in both matte and shimmery finishes but this review is focused solely on the matte shades which happen to be my all time favorite eyeshadow finish.

The Inglot Body Pigments (Mattes) are packed with intense color payoff. Even the lighter shades have great color payoff in a single swipe. The deeper shades have much better pigmentation in a single pass while the lighter shades can be blended out for a wash of color if that is your preference. Some of the shades can and will stain the skin due to the intensity of the color. Be sure to use a primer under these to prevent or minimize any staining which may occur - the bright pinks and purples are prone to staining.

The Inglot Body Pigments (Mattes) are available in mostly bright colors with a few neons mixed in. This means that they are not as wearable for those who prefer neutrals. If you rather some neutral colors check out the shimmer shades which have more subtle earth-tone colors to choose from. The deeper shades are perfect for smoky looks while the bright colors are great for bold in-your-face looks. It is quite refreshing to see so many bold intense colors in a collection and just in time for summer fun!

The Inglot Body Pigments (Mattes) are loose pigments which means they will have some level of fall-out associated with them. Fall-out is result of loose particles falling onto the cheeks or undereye area during eyeshadow application. This can be assuaged by using a dense brush with these pigments and ensuring that excess product is 'tapped' off before applying to the lids. Also, it is best to pat/press these colors on rather than swipe then back and forth. With matte shades there can be a lost of color/intensity while blending different shades together. These are no different and again should be patted/pressed onto the skin to maintain the desired intensity of the colors.

Remember these can also be worn on the face as blushes and mixed into lip colors. Just use a fluffy brush to get a sheerer application of color on the face or mix these with lipgloss or lipstick for add oomph to your lip colors.

The following numbers are not to be used in the lip area: 71, 149, 152, 153, 195, 202, 253
The following numbers are not to be used in the eye area: 124, 126, 171, 174, 214

Use of these colors in the 'non-recommended' areas should be done at your own risk!

The Inglot Body Pigments (Mattes) wear perfectly well without a primer without fading or creasing. I get at least 6+ hours of wear without fading when used without a primer. The darker shades have more longevity of course. But since I never wear eyeshadows without primer (and some of these shades stain)...I get 9+ hours of fade-proof wear when used with a primer/base.

The Inglot Body Pigments (Mattes) are just divine! I am just in love! These are great fun colors for the summer for those of us who love bold bright colors. There are also a few neons and hard-to-find colors that are sure to tickle your fancy. Neutral lovers these are not for you. Remember that these are matte shades which may not be everyone's cup of tea. You can check out the shimmer versions of these Body Pigments if that is more your style.

I'll just say I highly recommend these and if they are up you alley then definitely CHECK THEM OUT!
